SEASONS OF MINISTRY

What Stage of Ministry Are You In?

Every ministry journey is unique, especially when serving individuals and families impacted by disability, mental health, or trauma. Most leaders, however, find themselves in one of three stages: Exploring, Building, or Growing. This guide is here to help you navigate your journey by recommending workshops and sessions tailored to your current stage. Whether you’re laying the foundation, strengthening your ministry, or expanding its reach, we’re here to support and equip you along the way.

Look for the Identifier Icon above the workshop listings to easily find sessions that align with your ministry stage.

EXPLORING – 🗺️

The Exploring season is all about discovering the “how” of starting a disability, mental health, or trauma ministry. It’s about assessing your church’s needs, understanding the challenges families face, and laying the groundwork for a meaningful ministry. Workshops in this section will help you build a solid foundation, giving you the tools and inspiration to take the first steps in your journey.

Questions in This Season: Where do we start? Who do we need on our team? How do we identify the needs of individuals and families? What resources are available to guide us?

BUILDING – 🛠️

The building season is when your ministry is up and running, but there’s still some scaffolding to put in place. You’ve started implementing plans, but challenges like refining systems, recruiting and training volunteers, and adjusting accommodations may still arise. This season is all about strengthening the structure of your ministry, addressing hurdles, and ensuring it’s set up for long-term success. Workshops in this section will provide practical tools and guidance to help you navigate roadblocks and reinforce the foundation you’ve already laid.

Questions in This Season: How can we recruit and train additional volunteers? How do we serve the parents and families of those in our ministry?

GROWING – 🪴

The Growing season is when your ministry is established and thriving, but now the focus shifts to outreach and continued growth. You’ve laid a strong foundation, and now it’s time to expand your reach both within and outside your church walls. This season involves evaluating the success of your current programs, refining strategies, and making connections with families who may not yet be engaged. It’s about increasing visibility, strengthening relationships, and reaching those who need your ministry the most. Workshops in this section will help you learn how to extend your impact and invite more individuals and families to experience the fullness of the gospel through your church’s ministry.

Questions in This Season: How can we expand our outreach to families outside the church? What strategies will help us engage more individuals and families impacted by disability, mental health, or trauma? How do we evaluate the effectiveness of our current programs? How can we strengthen relationships within our church and community? What are the next steps to ensure our ministry continues to thrive and grow? How can we increase the visibility of our ministry and invite more families to participate?
