Five Activities to Target Adults with Disabilities

At Accessibility Summit in March my husband Lee and I spoke on outreach events for families with disabilities. During the Q & A time we talked about activities specifically for teens/adults with disabilities (including those living in group homes). Here are some ideas we came up with after the discussion and as we've been talking about it in the weeks since then:

BUT, if your church is considering getting a Special Needs Ministry off the ground, here are some things to consider for choosing the right person to get that ministry going:

Plainly stated, there should be no length to which we will not go to love and include our peers with disabilities, chronic illnesses, or cognitive challenges. Remember the friends who brought their buddy to Jesus on a mat through the roof of a house? Church inclusion is that straightforward.
