Sibling Support

Disability affects individuals, of course, but it also shapes the entire family. One group that’s often overlooked?
 
➡️ Siblings.
 
From children growing up alongside a brother or sister with a disability, to adults who step into caregiving roles for their sibling later in life, siblings face unique joys and challenges.
 
How can the church be a place of belonging and support for them? How can children’s, youth, and adult ministry leaders come alongside siblings to create environments where they are:
  • Seen and valued
  • Encouraged and cared for
  • Supported as they navigate both family and faith roles
  • Given space to flourish in their own identity and calling
This roundtable will spark honest conversation and practical ideas for equipping churches to love siblings well—reminding them that they are not invisible, but indispensable in God’s family.

A Key Ministry Disability Ministry Virtual Roundtable is an interactive, online gathering designed to equip and connect disability ministry leaders, church staff, and volunteers. These roundtables provide a space for collaborative discussion, idea-sharing, and problem-solving around key topics related to welcoming and including individuals and families impacted by disability in the church.

 

Each session features a focused theme, guided discussion, and opportunities for participants to ask questions, share insights, and learn from experienced ministry leaders and peers. Whether addressing practical strategies, theological perspectives, or innovative ministry approaches, the goal of the roundtable is to foster community, encourage best practices, and support churches in their mission to make disciples of Jesus Christ by ensuring accessibility and belonging for all.
