Meet the hosts

Sandra Peoples

Sandra Peoples (PhD student at SWBTS) is a special-needs mom and sibling. She and her family live outside of Houston, TX where she serves her church as the Inclusion Coordinator for Special Needs Families. She is also the Special Needs Ministry Consultant for the Southern Baptist of Texas Convention. She’s the author of Unexpected Blessings: The Joys and Possibilities of Life in a Special-Needs Family. Amy Kendall

Amy Kendall is the Special Needs Director at Mariners Church in Irvine, CA. Before Mariners, she was on staff at Saddleback Church for 17 years as their NextGen Disabilities and Mental Health Pastor. She was also a behaviorist in the school setting for 10 years working with individuals with autism and other special needs. Amy had the privilege of being on the board of Disability Ministry Conference as their vice president for a couple years as well. Amy is also the mom to an amazing son who has multiple special needs and believes she is a better minister because of it. Plus, he is her hero.

Chris Hulshof

Dr. Chris Hulshof is a professor and Disability Ministry program director for the John W. Rawlings School of Divinity at Liberty University. As the father of a young man with a disability, he is particularly interested in disability ministry and its theological foundations. As an ordained pastor, Dr. Hulshof’s hope is for the church to be a place of both welcome and belonging for those with a disability. He is the author of Jesus and Disability: A Guide to Creating an Inclusive Church (B&H Academic, 2022). He and his family live in central Virginia.

Dr. Steve Grcevich

Dr. G serves as the founder and President of Key Ministry. He is a child and adolescent psychiatrist who combines over 25 years of knowledge gained through clinical practice and teaching with extensive research experience evaluating medications prescribed to children and teens for ADHD, anxiety, and depression. In his role as President of Key Ministry, Steve serves the primary vision caster and spokesperson for Key and plays an important role in Key’s efforts to develop collaborations with church leaders, professionals, and organizations both within and outside the disability ministry movement. His first book, Mental Health and the Church, was published by Zondervan in February 2018.
